I don’t know what’s sadder. The fact that I missed the SAG awards because I don’t have cable, or the fact that I’m bummed that I missed the SAG awards.

It’s just that it is possibly the only awards show that will go on this year (bloody writers!), and for a celebwatching/gossip-monger/movie junkie loser like me, this awards season has been like going cold turkey while doing hard time in Riker’s Island prison!  I ended up watching some red carpet arrivals online on TNT’s streaming webcast, which is I guess the equivalent of an alcoholic stealing his sick child’s cough medicine and drinking it…pathetic…

But I’m happy that No Country walked away with a lot of wins, BUMMED that 3:10 didn’t win for cast, that I missed Josh Brolin accepting for No Country (HOTNESS judging from the day-after pics), and that Russell couldn’t show up, and moved by what Daniel Day-Lewis did –  he dedicated his award to Heath and said,

“In ‘Brokeback Mountain,’ he was unique; he was perfect,” said Day-Lewis, already an Oscar winner.” “That scene in the trailer at the end of the film is as moving as anything I think I’ve ever seen.”

Amen, Daniel.  Classy man.
