The Feast of Bela

Lately I’ve realized that, completely by accident mind you, this site reflects my discarded Catholic upbringing. It has patron saints and saint’s days, and Holy Days of Obligation. Today is one of those. That means we either get the day off from school, or else if we do have school then we all get rounded up at 9am, marched out of class, and forced to go to mass.

I won’t do that to you. Instead I just ask that you watch this:

and this:

And then say the prayer that St. Peter wrote

White on white translucent black capes Back on the rack
Bela Lugosi’s dead
The bats have left the bell tower
The victims have been bled
Red velvet lines the black box
Bela Lugosi’s dead
Undead undead undead
The virginal brides file past his tomb
Strewn with time’s dead flowers
Bereft in deathly bloom
Alone in a darkened room
The count

Amen.
