Frappuccino Fridays

Since moving to this awesome area, I’ve come up with a personal tradition created expressly to celebrate the new-found freedom and conveniences of our new home. I call it Frappuccino Friday. Pretty simple concept. Every Friday, weather permitting, I walk to the closest Starbucks and treat myself to a Frapp. BECAUSE I CAN. That was my main factor in creating this tradition. :) To pad it out more, I usually also try to work in a visit to one of the many local bakeries where I pick up breakfast pastries for BW and I to have on the weekend. There’s a lot of bakeries to try; I haven’t hit them all yet, and I’m still in search of the perfect, authentic, British scone.

So far no luck on the scones. But otherwise, I think my little tradition is a lovely thing. It may not sound like much to you, but after 5 years in the burbs it’s a big deal to me. And besides, it’s the small pleasures of life that really add up in the long run.

Hear Hear! for those who like to do things, “Just because they can!” I would give almost anything up for a yummy scone…

I would love to have stuff like that within walking distance of my home.
I am so sick of urban sprawl.

I either want a nice brownstone with a grassy backyard or 100 acres out in the boonies!! This suburbia crap is for the birds!!
