A Mixed Bag

That was our weekend. Saturday was pretty nice. We went to Christos downtown, one of my favorite Greek places that I really don’t get to nearly enough. *insert obligatory drooling* Followed up with a movie/concert across the street at the Byham. The whole “silent movie accompanied by live musicians” thing must really be catching on.

You may remember in the fall we saw Nosferatu with awesome live music by Devil Music Ensemble. Well, this time around it was a 1922 Doouglas Fairbanks Robin Hood accompanied by authentic Medieval/Rennaisance music performed by a group called Hesperus. It was really fun. I mean, the movie was pretty bad even with my unusual-for-modern-sensibilities ability to enjoy silent movies. But it was just beyond corny. The music was great; I’m so much of a medieval history geek that I totally love medieval music. The group was quite good, played authentic period instruments and all. I’m listening to their CD of early Scottish and Irish music right now…we bought one at the show.

Anyway, old movie and ancient music…two things I really dig.

Sunday though, we did taxes. Ugh.

Oh, also on Saturday we had our first meeting with a real estate person to see about selling our house. More on that when it’s more official. All I can say is, pray for us. Our buy our house, whichever you prefer. :)
