Let There Be Light

If you’ve been paying attention (and I wouldn’t blame you if you weren’t), you’ll recall that BW have been buying and installing a lot of new light fixtures for the house lately. Dunno why, really. I guess because it’s one home improvment project that shows great results fast, and isn’t too hard to do (according to BW.) So here are the new lights we’ve put up:

This is the new light in the kitchen. It has a big flourescent bulb, so for the first time, I can really SEE what I’m cooking! I’m very happy with this.

Entrance foyer. Matches the whole “we wish our house was in the Arts&Crafts style, but it isn’t, but we’re gonna fake it anyway” motif we have going in the living room and entry.

This is at the top of the stairs. We wanted something Arts&Craft-sy for here, but nothing really would have looked right. We picked this one because the iron goes well with our wrought-iron bannister.

These are some track lights we found at Office Despot, of all places. They were $50 lights on clearance for $13! Our living room is really dim because there’s no overhead light, so I’ve always wanted to run some track lighting above the mantel, but we didn’t think we could do it without tearing up the wall. These things just plug in to an outlet, no wall-tearing necessary. A little more obtrusive, but hey for $13, I can’t complain. And the extra light in the room kicks butt!

Now all that’s left is to get rid of the fugly fixture in the office.

We need to get some new lights installed in various places around here too.
