Weekend Wasabi

Early Saturday morning we met up with my buds Cheri and Tim the Enchanter. After fortifying ourselves with Starbucks and Krispy Kreme (such corporate whores are we!), we set out on a field trip to Costco. I love Costco! But I’ve never joined because the stores are rather far from me. My favorite thing about Costco is their sushi. Now, I know that Costco sushi is to real sushi as Arbor Mist Raspberry Flavor is to fine vintage wine, but I don’t care. The stuff is like little slices of rice-wrapped crack! We were all jonesing for it, so off we went to take advantage of Tim’s membership.

Speaking of taking advantage, the nice folk at Costco told Tim that he could get an additional card for someone “in his household” at no additional cost, so we went up to the counter and lied and now I have my own Costco card! heh. We joked that I have a Costco-marriage-of-convenience to Tim now. Please don’t let Senator Rick Santorum know… he doesn’t approve of such things.

Anyhoo, we returned to our house with our provisions, were joined by Cheri’s BF Jimmy and sat around and had Asian-themed food and movies. Watched Godzilla:King of the Monsters and Yojimbo. I think a pleasant time was had by all.

Sunday was just the usual laundry, groceries, blah blah day. Today it’s back to dodging emails and phone-calls from hapless librarians.

Not a big sushi fan but I love 50# containers of fabric softener sheets. Mmmm costco.

If you are desperate, this is good sushi – I like going to a nice sushi restaurant better, though. (That said, I have half of one of the Costco things in my fridge at this very moment and just had three pieces.)
