Road Trip Report

Got back home from North Carolina on Friday evening.  Other than go to the hockey game, we all didn’t really “do” anything, but we had a fine time nonetheless.  Game was a bit of a bummer (tho it started off great with a goal by BabyJ!)…Brent Johnson was not stepping up…but the ManZoo rocked.

We tried to go to the North Carolina Natural History Museum, but we forgot that March = the start of school field trip season.  Queued up outside the door was a whole battalion of grade-schoolers, so we ditched on that.  But I got a brief glimpse of downtown Raleigh, which seemed very nice.  We checked out downtown Chapel Hill, also nice (I love college towns.)  And of course lots of food:  Tyler’s fried olives!  The insane $8.99 Greek lunch buffet at Spartacus!  And sushi at Sake!  Spent a lot of money on wine and beer at Whole Foods and A Southern Season.

Oh, and a special shout-out to Loup’s cousin Twila, who out of the coolness of her own heart knitted me a new little penguin so that good ol’ Sid-Andre can have a teammate.  I’ve christened the new fellow BittyJ.

Pictures from the trip are here.
