I want to make some Jumble cookies…you know, the kind that have a little bit of everything.  Some oatmeal, some chocolate chips, some M&Ms.  Anybody have a tried-and-true recipe they could point me to?  I have a recipe for “Ranger” cookies, that have oatmeal, rice krispies, and possibly chocolate in them but I’m not sure if that’s the same.  Is there any difference between Jumble cookies and Ranger cookies besides semantics?

Editors Note:  Upon further research, I’ve found that “jumble cookie” is just the old-fashioned name for any sort of drop-style cookie.  Hence, oatmeal cookies are technically jumble cookies, as are chocolate chip cookies.  What I was looking for are called “Monster Cookies.”  They have everything in them, including some peanut butter.  So now I need to learn the textural difference between them and Ranger Cookies.  And my Ranger Cookie calls for coconut; I loathe coconut with the heat of 1,000 suns.  Can I leave it out?

This is why baking is hard.

It seems the sort of thing that the Fanny Farmer cookbook should have. I don’t have my copy in front of me. But, that’s where I’d try. I don’t think I have any recipes either.
